Southern Wesleyan University Background

Southern Wesleyan University in North Augusta, SC was founded in 1906 and sponsored by the Wesleyan Church to become an educational training ground for young adults. Southern Wesleyan University prepares students for leadership and graduate study in a number of areas, including education, business, medicine and law, among others.

The university provides continuing education to more than 2,700 students and has regional campus locations across South Carolina.

Adult Education Program Focus

The focus of the degree programs at the Southern Wesleyan University campus in North Augusta, SC is on developing the individual and professional goals of the adult student. The Southern Wesleyan University faculty integrates real world case studies into their advanced curriculum and utilizes a variety of cultural and historical contexts to encourage a deeper understanding of the course material. The fast-paced degree programs challenge and enable adult students to develop their skills and talents to effectively process and analyze program information within the context of a Christian framework.

Program Objectives

Southern Wesleyan University students are encouraged to complete an honors research project to gain advanced experience in their chosen field of study. Adult students who are interested in strengthening their continuing education experience in order to earn an associate, bachelor’s or master’s degree and advance in their careers are given the opportunity to work closely with knowledgeable field experts.

The Southern Wesleyan University faculty is comprised of highly-qualified trained professionals that are dedicated to meeting the educational needs of the adult student and are flexible to work around the student’s busy schedule.
